Last week, right before I left for my book research trip to CT, I set up a little recording studio for myself in my office (thank you OHO for the microphone!) and had a great conversation with Matt Baume, the mastermind behind The Sewers of Paris podcast.
I love The Sewers of Paris. Every episode is an hour-long interview with a gay person about the media that changed their life. Ever since I discovered Matt and this podcast, I’ve wanted to be on it so I could talk about one thing specifically:
Sailor Moon.
And we DO discuss Sailor Moon. Briefly. But things quickly take a wild turn due to Matt’s incredible interviewer instincts. At about 25 minutes, we transition into unraveling the very strange, perhaps pathological antics of my gay-ass childhood.
It’s horrifying, but also deeply entertaining according to some early reviews. I hope you enjoy it!
And someday I’ll write more about why I was the way I was, but for now simply enjoy The Sewers of Paris, and make sure to rate it 5 stars!
ABOUT MATT BAUME
- Matt produces a whole host of shows (live, online, you name it) that are smart, funny, and make people think. Check out his site: mattbaume.com
- Along with The Sewers of Paris, Matt also runs the astounding Queens of Adventure podcast, which somehow mixes drag queens and dungeons & dragons expertly. I’m super excited to get super into this.
