Think of all the blogs. The abandoned ones specifically. The emaciated, pocked, forgotten vessels littered across the virtual ether, with a few heartfelt sentences rattling around in their dead bellies, with long shadows turned velvety in the crepuscular light.
Crepuscular is a great word. I really just wanted to use that one word.
I’ve got some goals for this site and I’m going to use my first post to throw them out there:
- Create a virtual space that harbors my creative pursuits and my professional pursuits
- Interact with likeminded bloggers/writers/people
- Spellcheck everything.
- Gain an adoring readership that will clamor for my soon-to-be-finished manuscript
- ‘Adoring’ isn’t really a quantifiable increment so I’ll settle for perhaps ‘tepid,’ which, while no less opaque, is at least less daunting
- Act as a resource and help other writers with their works via tutoring!
- Don’t ever use the word zestful in a sincere way
- Keep this thing alive
- Be the sparkly gay man everybody wants to talk to at the party
Okay, that’s it for goals. For now. I can’t wait to come back to this and discover, with simmering horror, that I have grown an incredible attachment to the word zestful, of which I’m known for, of which I would be nothing without.
